DANOK OTEIZA. Friends of the Foundation / Fundazioko lagunak

Artingenium is collaborating with the Jorge Oteiza Museum Foundation on the development of “DANOK OTEIZA. Friends of the Foundation / Fundazioko lagunak ”, an initiative aimed at building an active and engaged community around the figure, thought, and creative legacy of Jorge Oteiza.

The project is conceived as an open and evolving community that complements the activity of the Jorge Oteiza Museum Foundation and grows over time through the contributions of its members.

DANOK OTEIZA reflects the commitment established in the Foundation’s statutes, which highlight the need to create an association:“to channel the collaboration of all those interested in understanding and disseminating the Founder’s work, as well as in supporting and promoting activities that contribute to achieving the Foundation’s objectives.”

The community was officially launched on October 21, 2025, coinciding with the artist’s birthday, at the Oteiza Museum in Alzuza (Navarre). The event featured a rich artistic program with the participation of artists, thinkers, and researchers connected to Oteiza’s creative legacy.

Among the first projects promoted by the community are:

  • The audiovisual work Oteiza 14 apostolu, directed by filmmaker Oskar Alegría.
  • graphic novel about Jorge Oteiza by artist Asisko Urmeneta, currently in development and scheduled for publication in 2026.
  • The new edition of the Oteiza Museum Guide, reissued thanks to the collaboration of CARDIVA.
  • To join the community, several membership categories have been created, inspired by key concepts from Oteiza’s aesthetic and philosophical universe:

  • CROMLECH bringing together the project’s two founding institutions: the Government of Navarre and the Jorge Oteiza Museum Foundation).
  • GAUR (strategic partners)
  • EMEN (patrons)
  • ORAIN (collaborators)
  • BAITA (partner entities
  • HITZA (media)
  • ITZIAR (in homage to Oteiza’s wife, Itziar Carreño; for individual members – annual fee 30€)

Artingenium’s role focuses on the design and implementation of the fundraising strategy, including the development of a sponsorship and patronage plan, the identification and personalized engagement of potential partners and collaborators, and the search for grants and public funding for the Foundation’s strategic projects.

In addition, Artingenium provides advisory support in the formulation of new initiatives and facilitates dialogue with sponsors and partner entities, working closely with the museum’s management team.
