The Fundación del Museo Reina Sofía de Madrid is a private, non-profit institution, created in 2012. Its goal is to encourage and support the mission of the Museo Reina Sofía as a vehicle for promotion, critical knowledge and public access to modern and contemporary art in all its different manifestations, as part of a public-private symbiosis oriented towards fostering a sense of belonging to the museum among civil society. The foundation places particular emphasis on the international sphere, especially Latin America.
From 2011 on, ARTINGENIUM was involved in setting up the structure of the foundation and recruiting potential patrons and members of its International Patronage Committee.
Besides, Lourdes Fernández is currently a member of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees and continues recruiting patrons to support the museum’s mission.
